Wevolve is a global initiative created by the World Bank Group to address issues of gender based violence in South Asian countries. It was important that the website reflect its strong mission and be able to clearly communicate information so I kept to minimal design elements and a bold color palette.
For the home page I wanted to start with something visually intriguing to spark interest while driving users to drill down to learn more about their core initiatives. An important element to this was to produce the right amount of content to tell the story, which I collaborated with Wevolve to determine.
Wevolve Global campaign was launched during the Lakmé Fashion Week Finale where some of India's biggest Bollywood actors, athletes, and cultural figures came together to bring Wevolve's mission to forefront. To help maximize impact the campaign was made prominent on the website, housing all digital content and driving further social engagement before, during, and after the event.
South Asia, especially India, is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world; combined with greater internet accessibility in the region, it meant mobile optimization was key to Wevolve's success online. To answer the charge, the website was made with a responsive framework to adapt to varying screen sizes and device detection allowed for images to be served up in the best way possible.
